Alleged serial rapist teacher, Who Raped six Primary School Pupils, remanded in prison.
Hamisu Galadima, a primary school teacher, who is alleged to have raped about six pupils in his school has been remanded in prison custody.
The Katsina Police Command commenced investigations into the activities of Hamisu Galadima, a primary school teacher.
The 33-year-old suspect is a teacher at Nasarawa Annex Primary School at Tashar-Icce village in Faskari Local Government Area.
Hamisu is currently in prison custody in Katsina after his arraignment before a Katsina Senior Magistrate Court over alleged rape.
The presiding magistrate had directed that he should continue to be remanded in the prison custody until September 26, 2016 when the court will hear his case.
Police First Information Report with number KT/943X/16 on Hamisu’s case revealed that he had, sometime in July, allegedly raped a nine-year-old pupil of the school (name withheld) in the staff room.
He allegedly warned her not to tell her parents or anybody in the school.
The victim’s father, Hashimu (surname withheld), however reported the incident at the Divisional Police Headquarters at Faskari, while police consequently launched a discreet investigation that eventually led to Hamisu’s arrest.
Police sources said, “Presently, we are having five different First Information Reports on Hamisu on cases of rape, apart from the one he was charged for at the Senior Magistrate court.
“Our CIID is currently investigating all the cases. Hamisu has already been arraigned before two or three other magistrates in connection with rape cases.”
Meanwhile, the senior Magistrate Court will, on September 28, continue hearing in a rape case against a 50-year-old watchman, Inusa Barau, a.k.a Dan Olo.
Inusa, who is currently on bail but was not in court on Monday when his case was called, is being suspected of raping a 12-year-old pupil (name withheld) of Sheik Gumi Primary School, Kankara.
The headmaster, Salihu Lawal Aliyu, reported the incident at the Kankara Police station, alleging that Inusa committed the offence at the Kankara Local Government guest house where he (Inusa) worked as a watchman.
Inusa, according to the Police First Information Report, alleged that Inusa gave the victim N400 after committing the offence, contrary to Section 283 Penal Code as amended, CAP 96, Laws of Katsina State of Nigeria, 1991.
“The FIR further stated, “The victim sustained injuries on her private part and was taken to General Hospital, Kankara, where she was examined by a doctor, treated and discharged.”
Police said Inusa confessed to have had sexual intercourse with the victim twice.
Police Prosecutor, Inspector Kabir Mohammed, however told the court to give Inusa “the benefit of the doubt” concerning his absence in court on Monday.
The Presiding Senior Magistrate, Hajiya Fadilat Dikko, consequently fixed Inusa’s case for mention on September 28.
