Five people were feared dead on
Sunday evening in an accident
which occurred on the 3rd Mainland
Bridge inward Iyana-Oworoshoki by
UNILAG waterfront.

Confirming the tragic incident, in a
statement, the Manager, Lagos State
Emergency Management Agency, LASEPA,
Michael Akindele, disclosed that the
accident involved a LAGBUS luxury bus, a
Hilux truck belonging to a local vigilance
group and a Rover jeep.

accident occurred around 6.10
pm on the Third Mainland Bridge

vehicles, a LAGBUS, a Hilux
truck belonging to a local
vigilante group, and a Rover
“Five persons comprising: three
female adults and two children
died in the accident.
“Their bodies had been had been
deposited at the Lagos Mainland
Hospital mortuary by the State
Environmental Health Monitoring
Unit (SEHMU).
“Five others who sustained
injuries had been transported by
LASAMBUS to another general
hospital’s trauma centre.
“Security and others agencies on
ground to ensure free flow of
traffic after the accident included
: LASTMA, FRSC, Nigerian Police
and the Rapid Response Squad

response unit had also recovered the

He said, “The truck driver was at
top speed when he had a blowout

crashed into the other vehicles,
including the LAGBUS. In all, two
vehicles somersaulted in the
accident. Five people died and 13
