The Nigerian police force has come under fire for threatening to deal ruthlessly with members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) if they protest in Delta state.
The IPOB declared Friday, September 23, 2016 a day for Biafrans worldwide to protest against the continued detention of its leader Nnamdi Kanu .
IPOB had earlier declared Friday, September 23, a day for Biafrans worldwide to protest against the continued detention of its leader Nnamdi Kanu and for the freedom of Biafra people.
But the Delta state police command has warned IPOB members to desist from holding protests in Delta state or face arrest.
The police also warned parents and guardians to advise their children or wards not to join any form of protest.
However, the warning by the police has angered some Nigerians sympathetic to the Biafran course, who ridiculed the police.
