One of the organisers of the march told newsmen that the march was carried out as a means of informing the public, especially those in the southern region, about the threat of the terrorists, Yahoo News reports.

“It was important to tell Camerounians that we are at war and a part of the country is suffering…about 150,000 people have been displaced by the conflict,” said Gubai Gatama, a newspaper editor who was among the march’s organisers.
